Flooded classrooms in Vidor Texas

I'm a 5th grade math teacher in Vidor, Texas.  The rains from hurricane Harvey earlier this month flooded my school with up to 3 feet of water.  The flooding not only ruined my classroom but it has devasted my town.  The lives and hearts of almost everyone I know are damaged and in pain.  We were allowed back into our classrooms on 9/11 to salvage what we could.  With nowhere else to store them, we teachers have brought what was left to our homes, but unfortunately many items already have mold growing on them and are unusable.  It shouldn't be a surprise that teachers pay out of pocket for many things in the classroom.  Myself, I have purchased many additional shelving units, decorations for the classroom, supplies for my kids, and even a chair for my desk - all of it now gone.  In order to give structure back to our kids' lives our high school has managed to open up some rooms for us.  We will be doubled up with another teacher but at least we can begin the long road back to normality.  We get back to teaching the students on September 19th.  The plan is to start repairs on our middle school and, hopefully , return to it sometime in March.  We are limited in space so we are asking for funds instead of physical donations to help sustain us now and to restore our rooms when they are ready for us.  These funds will be divided evenly among the six 5th grade math teachers to purchase materials  for our classes as needed.  We want to do our part to help these kids feel like their routine is returning and that they are safe day-to-day.   On behalf of myself, the students, and teachers, we would greatly appreciate your help in this mission.
