Flood Relief for Sharon and Clark

Sharon and Clark are a lovely couple that would give the shirt off of their back to anyone in need. Now they are in need of our help more than ever before. 

They were unfortunately one of the homes that was greatly affected by the Climate Disaster Flooding that struck the Ottawa River.

After days of fighting Mother Nature as hard as they possibly could, they were finally taken out. 

Sharon and Clark, along with the support of many family and friends worked so hard to build the sand bag walls around the property, set up pumps, and doing shifts of filling the pumps with gas. At one point they had been taken off the list for help because the crew saw them as hopeless, but they would not give up. The day before they finally lost the battle, the volunteer crew actually put them back on the list and had hope they could survive. 

Then on April 30th at 4am the sandbag walls collapsed and water rushed through their entire home. Within minutes their home was filled with over a foot and a half of water.

The scary part is, the waters are still rising and we don’t know how long their home will be submerged in the sewage filled water. 

Though there are some emergency relief funds, and minimal support from their insurance, they cost of repairing their home will much exceed the money they are going to be receiving. 

Sharon and Clark are both retired and on a fixed income. They had barely recovered from the financial devastation the flood of 2017 caused them and now they are burdened with this. 

They will potentially not have a home to live in for a very long time, as the damage caused to their house could be bad enough that it will have to be torn down. 

Please any donation can help them. This couple needs our support so badly at this time. We need to help them as much as they have always helped others. Once the water levels drop and we can assess the damage, we may be able to help them in other ways as well. I will continue to update as the information comes in.
