Flood Recovery for Betsy (our mom)

On Friday 9/14/18 Hurricane Florence made landfall in NC about 30 miles from our mom, Betsy Cavenaugh Easters home. 115 Norwood Farm Lane in Wallace NC. By Saturday, the river levels were  so high that a mandatory evacuation was ordered. We tried to save what we could but by 2:00 pm, we had to get out.  I took her to her friends home on higher ground,  where she still is. I barely found a way home to VA. My sister Abigail, who now lives in CO and I are feeling helpless,  as all we can do is stare at a phone, computer or TV trying to find out any info on her house and community. Monday night, confirmation came that her house and so many others are under water, all the way to the roof.  

We have no idea or even an estimate the cost to come..10's of thousands i'm  sure. She doesn’t have flood insurance as they doubled the rates a couple years back and she couldn’t afford. So, we are asking for help. Helping our mom in the recovery of a 2nd devastating flood. The money will be used for cleanup, housing her while re-building, & construction of new home, We are also going to need cleaning supplies, women's clothes and shoes.  We are also seeking tangible items you can donate such as:  furniture, appliances, etc once rebuilt. (If you'd like me to pass along  lists and donate that way, we are thankful and grateful for any and all assistance we receive in any capacity, Just let me know and I'll get to you those lists.
