My name is Julia. I live in the United States but a friend of mine, Israel, has a girlfriend who lives in Indonesia. Their plight was brought to my attention when he pleaded for prayers and help. A large area was flooded in Indonesia. It is the poorest region of the poor. People already barely have enough to survive. Remote areas are covered in mud. Israel received messages for two days that his girlfriend was digging in the mud to find people. The second day he reported that her back was worn out. She is exhausted and her children are freezing and hungry. Thursday she found a mother holding her baby buried in the mud. She said the refugees from the flood are all freezing from being wet. There are no blankets. I am asking for money to buy and send blankets. We may still be able to give them the money directly to buy supplies and pass them out. We are not asking for much, but I ask that bigger organizations help these people too. I am sure daily survival had worn them out before they were flooded and buried in mud. Please, I know it's Christmas, but maybe because it's Christmas you can spare just a little. Just give what you can afford. If we all banned together, we can save them from suffering. When was the last time you needed saved? Isn't that what Christmas is all about? I'll post updates with new information as I receive it.
