Flight for Life bill after having brain aneurysm

On January 19, 2020 our families lives changed forever in the blink of an eye.  Gary, my husband, and loving father to our two children had a brain aneurysm rupture, which caused a seizure and stroke, I immediately called for an ambulance.  He was life-flighted to Grand Junction Colorado, to St. Mary's Hospital.   He had two different surgeries, they placed coils and a stent into the ruptured aneurysm and a two-week stay in the ICU, and was finally able to come home.   While in his first surgery, a second aneurysm was found that had not ruptured, but needed to be repaired.  Meanwhile, Gary ended up missing two whole months of work, and finally in May when they allowed surgeries again due to COVID-19 he was able to get the second one repaired, they placed a pipeline embolization device (stent).  He had to miss another 2 weeks of work for this because they did not want him exposed to COVID-19 and had to self-isolate.
This is a man that had never had any type of health issue other than a bum knee, and a shoulder injury.  He proudly served his country for 21 years in the Army National Guard, and thankfully we had the majority of his medical expenses covered through the VA, all except for the Ambulance and Flight for Life.  The transportation bills we were told were authorized to be paid, but 9 months after the incident we get the bills for both the Ambulance and Flight for Life stating that Gary is not eligible for help with these.
Gary is not the type of man that would ask for charity or help, but I know the stress of everything that this loving man has been through is not something that he needs to have on his mind, as stress with his brain aneurysms is not something that is wanted.  If anyone out there can donate, I don't care how small, it will all go toward the two transportation bills that are over $30,000.  Needless to say, our savings have been depleted.
He is still on the road to recovery, and is doing well, but will need to have an angiogram in November to make sure all is well with his brain, and that he is healing the right way.
It has been a scary time for us all, as these types of incidents typically turn out worse, and our children ages 7 and 14 have remained strong, but I know they worry everyday about their Dad, as do I.  Thank you so much for taking the time to read about Gary's story.
