Andy and Nancy's fire recovery fund

On October 9, 2017, my parents, Andy and Nancy Fleming, lost their home of 30+ years in the Tubbs Fire. The house, on Aaron Dr. in the Hidden Valley/Sleepy Hollow neighborhood of Santa Rosa, held generations of family photos, books, artwork, clothes, all amassed over the entire course of their adult lives. I grew up there, as did my sisters Becca and Adina, and we have returned from across the country for holidays and family celebrations, with kids of our own. Now, in the first years of their retirement, my parents have to start over. They poured themselves into that house, and the Tubbs Fire turned it into a lonely chimney and a few piles of ash. My parents were away when the fire swept through, and avoided the harrowing evacuation that so many others experienced. While they are thankfully safe, though, they were not there to grab what was most precious to them, and their Santa Rosa possessions have been reduced to the bags they took with them on vacation and the car still parked at the airport.


My parents are devastated at the loss of their home. Anything you can give will help them begin to rebuild from this tragedy. We will put funds toward immediate needs in the next few difficult months--toiletries, clothes, food, gas. Andy and Nancy will be the ones who benefit, as nobody else will be permitted to withdraw the donated funds. Thank you, from the bottom of our hearts.
