Flags For Disabled, Hospitalized Veterans
It has been over 37 years since the end of the Vietnam War, yet its impact continues to deeply effect the lives of our veterans everyday, including the honorable men who are currently in care at the Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veterans Hospital in Bedford, MA.
These men were all left disabled from their service in the Vietnam War.
This Veteran’s Day, the Vietnam Veterans Support Group is looking to show appreciation and gratitude towards these men by gifting each of them a flag of their respective military units that will display with pride for all to see. Not only will this infuse a renewed sense of pride and confidence as they live in care for their disability, but it will also be a strong display from the community that we have not forgotten their selfless public service to our country. And, that we have not forgotten them.
Through your generous support, we will produce the flags and guidons. We are working with the hospital and have already received authorization to display the flags in one of the buildings on their grounds where the men, their families, and general public will be able to view them on a daily basis. The $6,000 we are requesting will go to the purchase of the individual unit flags, mounting sets, and spreaders. Our goal is to purchase the flags in celebration of Veteran’s Day 2017.
Thank you for your consideration of these brave men, who have lived with disability and needed care for most of their lives because of their service and selflessness. Together, let’s honor them and show them our support for their betterment and happiness.
The group of veterans collectively represent all branches of our armed forces. Specific units include:

101st Airborne Division Military Assistance Advisory Group (MAAG)
1st Air Cavalry Division Military Assistance Command Vietnam (MACV)
2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment II Field Force Vietnam Artillery
Air Force Network Integration Center 3rd Battalion, 319th Airborne Artillery Special Forces
798th Radar Squadron 24th and 95th Evacuation Hospitals
Seabees
