Front Line Appreciation Group by the Employees of Ludwig Institute for Cancer Research is a Ludwig Institute employee-led effort dedicated to helping feed front line healthcare workers and volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic, while also helping to support local restaurants. Which hospitals will we be working with?
We will begin by working with Elmhurst Hospital, but we will reach out to other hospitals in New York that are underserved as funds permit. We chose Elmhurst because our colleague, Alice, is an active volunteer and because it is at the center of responding to the COVID-19 crisis.
What restaurants will deliver?
We will be working with local restaurants in New York. Our budget is approximately $8-$10 per meal (individually wrapped sandwiches and small containers of hot food). Menus will be included with deliveries to help the restaurants with advertising!
How many meals will be delivered?
The number of meals delivered will vary depending on the funds we receive. We were told by Elmhurst that there is no limit.
What will be done with remaining donations?
Any remaining donations will be sent directly to the hospital. We will communicate to employees and friends the total funds remaining.
