<div>Rand Gholson was a man who epitomized being “in service to others.” It is what his life was about, and it was his most natural and passionate way of living. Genuine love, care, and joy constantly emanated from him. He was a big, burly bear of a man who wore bright colors <strong>and he wasn’t afraid to hug, laugh, smile, and reach out to those who needed some extra TLC.</strong> And it was all real.

<div>Rand never retreated from giving true compliments and genuine praise to those around him. He was supportive of all and paid respect to all. <strong>Was there someone in need? He was right there. Was someone struggling? He would find out what he could do to help. And Rand had no expectation of reciprocation.</strong>

<div>Rand entered the hospital in Boise, Idaho on September 8th with Covid. After surviving Covid and still healing in the hospital, he was encouraged by the doctors to start teaching Energy Medicine to long-haul Covid survivors in his local area of Idaho. Both the doctors and Rand were excited. Unfortunately to the surprise of all, on October 2nd he died from an unexpected hemorrhage exacerbated by blood thinners.

<div><strong>The news of Rand’s death has rocked the Energy Medicine community where he was a long-time practitioner and faculty member for Eden Energy Medicine.</strong> He touched the lives of hundreds of students and colleagues and was one of the greatest advocates of these life-changing whole body holistic techniques. He credited Eden Energy Medicine as the prime catalyst for getting him off of 15 years’ worth of anti-depressants and numerous other medications and wanted to sing from the rooftops about all he had learned. He was known to attract crowds on the beach and in farmer’s markets teaching techniques and exercises to all who were interested. Many people are left wondering, “How will we go on without Rand? This world needs Rand.”

<div><strong>Needless to say, Rand’s death has been emotionally devastating for his wife, Laura. </strong>It has also been financially crippling as well. Laura and Rand lived humbly, supporting themselves solely off of his income. There always seemed to be a cause or someone in greater need to siphon off any surplus they might accrue. She currently does not have employment, and the only assistance she will receive from Rand’s death is $200 a month. Laura being Laura, she has already started planning out options for her future, but she has an immediate crisis of a mortgage payment of $2000 a month without means to earn all of that on her own at this time.

<div>Even in Laura’s intense grief of losing her husband, best friend, and soul mate of almost 16 years, she has created a vision for how to take care of herself. But all of this will take time. For now, she needs to put her life back together and pay her bills. <strong>We have put together this campaign to give Laura some breathing room and time to put her plans into motion in a considered manner rather than scrambling to save her home and memories amidst this sudden and tragic loss. Rand gave so much of himself; it is fitting that we honor that legacy by trying to give back to his family in need.</strong>

<div>Your greatly appreciated donation will be used to pay for expenses incurred from Rand’s death. Our primary goal is to raise enough funds to help Laura pay her mortgage for a year so she can grieve properly and have time to put the pieces of her life together again. Some funds will also go towards a service in Rand’s memory. (In the event of his death, true to his nature, Rand had specifically requested a modest party with people enjoying themselves, eating, laughing, and spending time together.) His was a life that definitely deserves being celebrated.

<div>Our financial goal is reflected in Rand’s love for counting things and working with numbers and patterns. He also approached life with fun and playfulness. In that spirit, and after a lot of thought, we set the number in a fun pattern that Rand would have appreciated, but also a base-line amount that will help Laura in the most immediate way. All proceeds will go to Laura.
