The Lansing city officials have decided it doesn't want to pay the $7,500.00 cost to have the ornaments repaired after a vehicle crashed into one on December 30th of last year.
The city of Lansing doesn't have the funds to repair the ornaments at this time.
The ornaments have been placed at the Michigan Avenue and Washington Square roundabout for several years.
The city installs them before the annual Silver Bells in the city holiday event.
The organizer has permission to post this fundraiser by Downtown Lansing, Inc. and the City of Lansing. The funds will go directly to the organization (Downtown Lansing, Inc.) which owns the ornaments that are placed downtown which will ship them to Bronners to have them repaired.
