Do you like supporting up-and-coming emerging Canadian filmmakers? If so, then you should consider backing our new project Fitz, co-written and directed by Isaac Stacey, the filmmaker behind independent film company Prism Guard Productions and the 2024 award-winning short documentary The Invisible School.

<div>Isaac’s new film takes us back to the late 1940’s, and explores the character of Carl “Fitz” Fitzgerald, a private investigator who discovers his longtime friend and former partner, Detective Beau Brooks, has been mysteriously murdered. Driven to solve the crime, Fitz begins his investigation, resulting in him coming into contact with several individuals from his troubled past, including Beau’s widow Lucy Brooks, and pianist James Ellington, who reveal more about the person he is on the inside. This project will seek to explore Fitz as a complex, layered character and the measures he will take to get what he wants.

<div>Isaac Stacey has been directing projects since he started at Sheridan, but has never had the opportunity to direct a narrative short film that he has written himself, until now. Fitz will be his capstone project under Sheridan College’s film program, along with a number of other film students just like him who have been studying there since 2022. While the project is an ambitious one, Isaac feels ready to use the skills he has developed since beginning the program to tackle this project head on, using all the creativity he has to offer.
