FTC World Championships!
We are FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) Team 4140 Fish in the Boat and we need your help.
Over the past eight years as a team, we have learned a lot of technical and professional skills through FIRST LEGO League and FTC. This year we won the Inspire award at the Wisconsin State Tournament, qualifying us for the World Championships in St. Louis from April 24-27 to compete against the top 128 of 2500 FTC teams in the world. We need to raise money for robot parts, lodging, transportation, and tournament registration.
An investment in Fish in the Boat is not only going to teach six students but it will grow the robotics community throughout Minnesota. Fish in the Boat is actively holding workshops and demonstrations, mentoring teams, and working to raise the competition level. The largest event Fish in the Boat hosted this year was in the rotunda of the Mall of America. We brought together all of the FIRST programs and partners as well as FIRST alumni organization GOFIRST and Moonbots. This was the first event in MN to bring together all the programs and it was a great success. Fish in the Boat hosted the first FTC kick-off, a midseason workshop, and three FLL regional tournaments, the first group of students in MN to do so. We actively share our knowledge with others and work towards growing the robotics community in MN. We do this in a way that allows and encourages those that we teach or volunteer for to go teach others and volunteer them self. We call this the Ripple Effect and it is our passion.
On top of being an Inspire Award winner in Wisconsin, this year we were a part of the winning alliance and were awarded the PTC Design award in Minnesota and were nominated for three other awards.
We are not supported by our school so we raise money through our community, friends, and local companies. It is because of people like you that we can successfully compete and learn through this amazing program.
