The ministry is trying to purchase a facility to solidify and expand its capacity. As a result, the Kitchen has begun a capital campaign to secure the necessary funds to purchase, renovate and equip the facility it has operated from for 9 years. That’s why NOW is a perfect opportunity to support this quiet but mighty organization with a financial gift or a gift of your time and expertise. Devoted to helping relieve hunger and increase food security in Allegan County and surrounding counties, on a weekly basis, volunteers at the Kitchen prepare and distribute emergency weekend meals to 350 Allegan Public School students who qualify for free or reduced lunch. Every Thursday evening the Congregational Kitchen's volunteers prepare and serve over 1,000 meals for anyone who joins them. The meals are provided at no cost.
