Get the Enfield Pantry Re-opened

Tax deductible

We need your help so we can continue to fight hunger in our community. We have to suspend our work for lack of equipment. We are in the process of addressing the immediate renovations necessary to re-open, but one of the most important upgrades we need to make is to our cold storage system.

The Enfield Food Distribution has been in continuous operation for nearly 40 years providing food to those in need. We are a member pantry of the Food Bank of the Southern Tier.

About a year ago, the pantry increased the times they are open to our clients to include Sunday afternoons. As a result, we are reaching many who were unable to get to the pantry on weekdays. Our numbers increased significantly.

Last month, in May of 2018, they served food to an average of 46 elderly, 190 children and 320 adults WEEKLY. They aren’t equipped to meet that increased need.

In order to continue to safely provide food to our clients, we need to increase our cold storage with the installation of a walk-in freezer, so we are raising money to fund the purchase and installation of a freezer, which is supposed to run seventeen thousand dollars. Any money we raise past the cost of a freezer will go towards food for the pantry to continue fighting hunger in our community.
