Two Rivers High School Robotics Team Fundraiser
We are the Lightning Turtles, a FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) team, located in Mendota Heights, Minnesota. We participate in FIRST (www.firstinspires.org), a worldwide robotics organization that includes thousands of teams and hundreds of thousands of students. FIRST is a robotics program that inspires STEM, encourages innovation, and fosters well-rounded life skills-- including self-confidence, communication, and leadership. FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) teams are made up of 9th-12th grade students who are interested in the concepts of FIRST and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
The Lightning Turtles are an award-winning FRC team with 25 diverse high school student members, and have recently welcomed 13 new rookie members to the team! We build competition-level robots with real-world engineering while developing skills in CAD, programming, materials fabrication, project management, strategic thinking, and leadership. We are mentored by experienced engineers, and industry professionals, who help guide us through the processes of designing and building the robot. We will compete in two FIRST Regional Competitions this year, and hopefully advance to the FIRST Championship Competition in Houston, Texas!
Building robots and entering competitions is highly rewarding, but also quite expensive. Unfortunately, like for many FIRST robotics teams, the COVID-19 pandemic has created financial challenges, but we are back and ready to compete! Your donation will help to cover the costs of the robot build materials, tools, supplies, tournament registrations, community outreach, transportation, lodging, and meals.
Thank You!
