First Indigenous 2019 Sydney to Hobart Crew

Tax deductible
In 2019, the Tribal Warrior crew will make history by competing as the first Indigenous crew in the Sydney to Hobart, Australia's greatest Blue Water ocean race.  2019 marks the 75th anniversary of the yacht race that draws entries from all over the world.

This is a dream that's been a long time in the making for Tribal Warrior, a Redfern based Aboriginal maritime training organisation that has been helping Aboriginal peoples gain qualifications in the maritime industry for over 20 years.

Participating in a world-class sporting event like this involves significant costs of approximately $150,000. The crew needs your support to ensure that they are race-ready and are competitive on this international stage.

"The money we raise, will be used for crew and vessel necessities including safety training and equipment, navigation tools, an Aboriginal flag spinnaker (sail), return travel and other race-related costs.

Being part of the Sydney to Hobart gives us the opportunity to race in a competition that we are not traditionally included in.  This shows to our young ones that we belong everywhere.  Our people have regulated the coast and waters for thousands of years and we belong to it."  Shane Phillips, Tribal Warrior CEO.

Lend your support to the Tribal Warrior crew and help us to make history!
