Fire Relief Fund - Santa Rosa

We are all aware of the recent fires that have devastated homes and lives in the Sonoma County wine region of Northern California. Our small town of Auburn, a couple hours away in Placer County, shares community identity with Sonoma County because of our mutual love of the sport and our shared sense of cycling's involvement as a healthy outdoor family activity enhancing both of our areas' lifestyles and economies. Many members of our extended cycling family in Sonoma County were dealt terrible losses in the fires and we want to help.

Auburn has a small owner operated bicycle sales & repair business-- Victory Velo Bike Shop-- with a volunteer amateur racing team-- Victory Velo Racing. We witnessed the devastation to families for the North Bay Fire disaster and decided to take action. We simply couldn't sit idle and watch our sister cycling community suffer, so we decided to step forward with a campaign to provide financial support to the victims of these fires. We'd like to blend your help with ours.

So Victory Velo Bike Shop and Victory Velo Racing have agreed to provide matching donations up to an aggregate of $2,000. We will match all contributions dollar for dollar until we reach a total of $2,000 donated, then combine your donations with ours, hopefully to send at least $4,000 to fire victims in Sonoma County. But we sure don't want to stop there: 100% of the funds will go to provide financial relief to the victims and survivors of these very recent disastrous Northern California fires, so we want to use our racing club's charity status to keep the healing flowing while hopefully giving you a tax break. Victory Velo Racing is a 501c3 non-profit entity and therefore, your contributions will be tax deductible to the extent allowable for your individual circumstances.

Generous hearts from all over have pulled together so many resources and donations to try and help those that are suffering and in need. The fires have devastated thousands of lives. Relief agencies and churches alike are overwhelmed with
trying to sort out all the generous non-monetary donations that now they are asking for only monetary donations to help out.

Victory Velo Bike shop and Victory Velo Racing came up with the idea of using GoFundMe as the quickest way to provide monetary aid to those suffering from these horrific fires. We want to donate the funds to an agency that will wisely distribute the funds, so we have chosen Sonoma Pride is a Santa Rosa collaboration of the King Ridge Foundation and Russian River Brewing Company, with 100% of all proceeds going to the victims of these horrible fires.

The bicycling community, a major source of health, enjoyment, recreation, tourism, and family togetherness has been severely damaged by the North Bay fires. Because we in Placer County find commonality and friendship with our sister cycling region of Sonoma, Victory Velo Bike Shop and Victory Velo Racing are taking this extraordinary step forward to help. Please double your contribution by blending with our efforts to get Sonoma County lives back on track.
