Firefighter Aid Ukraine (FAU)is a grassroots, NGO, not for profit charity assisting firefighters in Ukraine (and other countries) where the need for assistance is great. After visiting Ukraine on a Rotary Group Study Exchange, and seeing the conditions and need for assistance, Kevin Royle founded the project. With the help of Rotary Clubs in both Ukraine and Canada, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, and several departments and businesses throughout Canada, FAU successful completed its first mission in 2017, delivering 14,000 lbs of aid to seven regions in Ukraine.
The project was so successful that we have committed to a second deployment. Communities and fire services throughout Canada, and even the US, have donated equipment and supplies to help first responders. We hope to raise $10,000 of our $56,000 budget through this campaign. Funds raised will be used to cover the costs (cleaning, repairing, packing, shipping, distribution, and training) associated with the mission. Our goal is to ship the container from Edmonton, AB in Spring 2019 (March) and distribute the equipment in June 2019. Regions targeted in Ukraine include; Cherkasy, Dnipropetrovisk, Kiev, Lviv, Odessa, Poltova, Rivine, and Ivano Frankivsk.
FAU is 100% volunteer based. Our volunteers and board members receive no monetary compensation, wage, or salaries, meaning all of your donation goes directly to the cost to execute the mission.
