FIRE (Fighting for Im/migrants & Refugees Everywhere) is organizing a solidarity delegation to meet the Caravanistas approaching the so-called “U.S.-Mexico border”
Help us send an LGBTQ, people of color, and migrant-led delegation to document conditions on the ground and bring much needed material aid to the many migrants and refugees who have been forced by U.S. imperialism to flee their home countries.
What will the delegation accomplish:
>> Provide eyewitness account and media coverage (including social media) of conditions and treatment of Caravanistas at the border.
>> Organize and support demonstrations/ protests to demand asylum for everyone on the caravan.
>> Deliver humanitarian aid such as food and clothing to migrants as they cross the border.
What else is FIRE working on:
>> Rallying support in major U.S. cities to demand asylum, justice and a warm welcome into the U.S. for the Caravanistas.
>> Exposing the racist and exclusionary character of international borders with the demand -- “Abolish the borders -- let them in!”
>> Building local FIRE branches/organizing committees to defend migrants and connect the dots between the attacks on Black, brown, and indigenous people at home and abroad
