Fire recovery fund for David

David lost his home and dog in a devastating fire on October 21.

The fire and smoke destroyed all of his belongings. While his home can be repaired, it will take an unknown amount of time and money to assess the damage and determine next steps. His home is a heritage home and David's insurance company would not cover him. Your donation will help cover temporary housing costs, basic necessities, and needed repairs.

David is a long-time resident of Halifax and a retired elementary school teacher. You may have seen him walking around North End Halifax with his beloved dog, Henry. The loss of Henry has been especially hard...they've been constant companions for 10 years.

David loves connecting with people, so he volunteers much of his time and works one day a week at a local convenience store.
