Fire, Fire, Fire - From Motel to Stable Housing

Donation protected
On the night of December 13, the home my son and I were living in burnt to the ground and everything in it. We have to start from the beginning. Please help me raise some money. Money raised will keep us in temporary shelter in a motel and aid in helping us find permanent housing, it will help purchase my medicine, it will be used for transportation to and from work which will include a tune up for my bike, and to purchase essential needs.

Thankfully my roommate woke me up as I was sleeping before my midnight shift was to start and we all walked out without injuries. Within minutes of us walking out of the house it was engulfed in flames.

As a single father, I have had some challenges throughout the last couple of years. I have felt like things were finally going in the right direction as I have been employed full time, at a job I like, with a schedule that works for me and my son, and then this occurred. Among all of our clothes and belongings, my son has lost all his school supplies including his tablet that he uses for distance learning. My son is such a sweet, loving, talkative boy and this is devastating. I want to be able to provide stability as soon as possible.

I also lost my medications that had just been refilled for three months. I am epileptic and have lupus. Without my medication I have seizures within days which I am already suffering from them. Since my medication was just refilled my health insurance will not cover it. In order for me to return to work and not risk having a seizure on my way to work or at work I need to purchase the medications at full price. I have not been able to return to work since the fire.

We are currently staying in a motel as close to my work place as possible. However, there is no public transportation that could get me back and forth, therefore, I have to use my bike to get to work and the brakes are bad.

My family has been supporting and helping me out as much as they can in these first few days. I am asking other family members, friends, and the public to help in any way possible. Any amount will help. Any donation we will put to good use. Please share this post so others may have the opportunity to donate or share.

Thank you for your time and help.
