Fire Dept life saving equipment

Donation protected

Dear family, friends & generous caring people,

Please take the time to read this message as it is something that is incredibly important to me. My name is Kris Guyton, a family member, friend, and former firefighter of the Wilberforce community. Station 4 of the Highlands East Fire Departments to be exact. This is a station that I still call home, and visit whenever I get the chance. This is a department with a lot of heart, soul and character that operates on minimal financial support and the use of old or non existent equipment. This information has always been a part of my knowledge and a burden on my mind. This small town fire station is in need of financial help, like almost all small town departments are. Now I am currently a very proud member of the Fox Creek fire department in the town that I currently live in out west, and I am always amazed by the quality of equipment and resources of firefighting gear we have. This is largely in part of generous donations from oil companies, donations in which unfortunately the highlands east departments would not ever get to see. My dream is to help with that.

Now, as most of you may have already heard, on Saturday February 18th we all lost a great friend and family member to a tragic accident. This hit directly home, for myself, and many of you that will be reading this. It goes without saying that the hearts of anyone who knew Bob Bell are extremely hurt.
That is the cruel thing about tragedies; they can strike at anytime to anyone.

It is my deepest desire to be able to help my family and friends and those closest to me back where my roots come from. Sometimes it takes a tragedy hitting close to the heart to make you realize you need to do something to help. I am asking for anyone who is able to join me in raising as much money in the name and memory of Bob Bell (a great man), as possible to support the fire department in hopes to be able to someday save and prevent these terrible tragedies from happening. Every dollar we are able to raise, small or large, will go directly into the hands of the Highlands East Fire Department which will go directly into purchasing desperately needed rescue equipment and training, focusing on ice and water rescue.

In closing, my biggest fear in life is to not be able to help someone in need. So it goes with out saying how much I will appreciate any contribution to my cause. The thought of my family, friends and community members being protected by a group of amazing volunteers is something that never leaves my mind being a firefighter myself. So, with the purchasing of much needed resources, the goal is to lessen my fear and be able to save precious lives in the future. Thank-you so much in advance for even just reading this. I will not soon forget anybody’s generosity

Sincerely,

Kris Guyton
