Fire in Lahaina Takes Everything

This fire has been more devastating than anyone could have anticipated. Please share and donate if you can, as every little bit helps. I don’t know how many people I can reach but if you help me share I know we can make a difference. 

My name is Jennifer Owens. I am from Maui, Hawaii. I am in the military and have been on rotation in Poland for the last nine months. I am one week from coming back to the states, to Ft Stewart GA where I am stationed. Recently I have been tracking the development of Hurricane Lane in my home town, where my kids are with their dad, stepmom and two siblings. Never did I think I would get a phone call from their stepmom, Brittney, that their house had burned down. A brush fire woke them up from their sleep, and had already taken out 3 houses next to them. My kids father Kaeo, woke up Brittney and my sons Kai and Ha’awi, along with their one year old daughter, Vicky and evacuated along with their neighbors, also family, as there are aunties, uncles and cousins who all have their houses on the same plot of land. Thankfully their 3 year old son Koko was visiting his grandparents. My children; my family lost their home and memories, sadly even their pets. They are now left with only eachother.

I am deployed and cannot qualify for emergency leave because thankfully everyone is safe. I can only watch from afar as they try to pick up the pieces of their lives. Will you help? I am raising this money to give to them to help them start over.
