#FinnSmiles needs independence

As many of you know, our kids require a lot of extra, expensive, stuff.  Jason works extremely hard, and we manage our money very well.  We pay all bills on time, and do not splurge often.  We manage really well on one income and feel extremely fortunate to live the lives we do.   Unfortunately, insurance does not pay for most.  We are left to pay for many things out of pocket.  Which leaves us with not much for our savings.  These items include physical therapy, aquatics, hippotherapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, special seating, special toys, apps, feeding supplies, diapers, expensive formulas, bibs, camp, plus a few typical kid "want" items.  (Mainly, WWE and Nashville Predator items)  Sometimes people forget, Finn is not our only child with expensive needs.  Preston was diagnosed years ago with Asperger syndrome. (High functioning, autism)  This is a whole new set of therapies, that are also not considered to be covered benefits by insurance.  So that means more money out of our pocket's. Currently, our minivan check engine light has turned on.  A few months ago, we had her at the shop for a minor fix, but walked out with a list of about $500 worth of repairs that need to be done.  And now, the dreadful light is on, who knows what is broke now.  So, this leads us to a new issue.  Do we spend the little money we have saved to fix the van that doesn't carry Finn's power chair efficiently? Or do we ask for help with a down payment, to purchase a handicap accessible van? We really need one that will easily load and unload Finn's 400 pound power chair and we can actually afford the monthly payments.  Well, we have chose option #2.  :)   From here on out, we plan to do different things to raise money for a handicap accessible van.  For those who are curious, a used, side entry van in good condition, with under 50k miles, start around $37, 000.  So, if you are in need of a new FinnSmiles shirt, hang tight.  We have plans to launch several campaigns, including hats!   Fundraising and asking for money is not an easy thing to do.  I have wrote and then deleted this, probably 100 times in the past 6 months. We love you all and know that many of you want to help.  We appreciate you and your support.
