Finns Cancer and FIP Treatment

ANYTHING HELPS! (This is a low end estimate of his treatment until we know more) So as many of you know Finn is my baby. When something is wrong i’m the first to know it. This is news i never thought i would ever hear. We are devastated and trying to be hopeful and positive. About 2 weeks ago finn was nauseous and was not able to keep food down. Tried eating again the next day and same happened. One more day we hoped he just had a tummy ache but he wouldn’t eat at all and was vomiting bile. We took him to the vet for x-rays and a check for them to send us home with anti nausea medicine and bland diet. He seemed to slowly get interested in food again until he wasn’t again. We decided we wanted to have bloodwork done to see if there was any abnormalities and sure enough there was. Finn’s white blood cell count was out the roof as well as his protein levels. He received some fluids and we were sent home with kitty tylenol to help with his fever as well. That night he took a turn for the worse. We rushed him to the emergency vet where he had a temperature of 107. They monitored him and got his fever under control until the next day where it shot back up to 106. this continued for a couple days and at its highest it reached 107.5. we suggested an ultrasound which revealed the worst. Finn has a mass in his abdomen. To be exact it’s called a “Mesenteric lymph node bowel mass”.  This could be a multitude of things like Lymphosarcoma, FIP, lymphadenitis, or something else scary. We were able to take him home for the evening but we need to take him to a AVIM (Atlantic Veterinary Internal Medicine & Oncology) in the morning. He will need a biopsy and an internal medicine consultation to figure out what the mass really is. We are hoping it is something treatable through removal and chemo but hopefully will know more within the next day or two. Anything helps as we are really in the hole with his overnight stays and his millions of medicines we are keeping him on so he’s comfortable. Thank you in advance we appreciate it so much Prayers needed.
