Finn's adapted van

Most of you know about Finn and his amazing journey. How he suffered a stroke in utero, which lead to half of his brain not developing, which lead to cerebral palsy, epilepsy, and list of other chronic medical issues.

None of Finn’s journey has been easy. He spends countless hours in therapy, in doctor offices, needs countless rounds of Botox injections, and will inevitably need surgery.

Finn is a super hero in every sense of the definition. He is amazing at smiling through the pain and frustration of everything life has thrown at him, but he isn't without his weak moments. The emotional toll he takes on everyday of being cognitively aware but not having the ability to express joy, happiness, fear, anger, and frustration like his peers is a weight I wish upon no one. Kasey and I wish that, one day, Finn could run, jump, shout, and play just like every typical kid. We also understand the reality of Finn and we do everything to make sure he has the most genuine childhood he possibly can.

Recently Finn has been trained and paired with a speaking device. This device allows Finn to express himself through speech and communicate his wants and needs to the world. Even more recently, Finn has outgrown his medical stroller and has moved into an adapted wheelchair. This chair is designed to support his body and give him the best platform for living his life. The chair has the switches and wires for his speaking device built in so he will never be without his voice.

That brings me to reason for a Go Fund Me page. This chair and the speaking device are Finn’s keys to the world. So that Finn can have access to all life has to offer him, we need to be able to transport him and his chair. We currently have to take two cars everywhere we go, one car for Finn and one to transport his chair and equipment.  With work schedules and other factors, it isn't always possible for Finn to live a life outside his home. What we are doing is purchasing a van, which will then be revamped, adapted, and fitted with a ramp and other assistance features, so that Finn can live his life to the fullest. These funds from Go Fund Me will be used to adapt the van. The plan is have everything purchased and adapted by the beginning of October.

While we have some assistance from the state of Ohio, we will be funding most of this ourselves and we cannot make this happen without some help.  We are very thankful to anyone and everyone that can give to this cause. Please share and feel free to contact Kasey or Ethan with any questions. Again, thank you for all our generosity.
