Somewhere in the mountains north of Santa Fe, New Mexico lies a 10x10x6 Romanesque-style bronze chest filled with gold, jewels, and valuable antiquities. Placed there by Forrest Fenn in 2009 or 2010, the retired Santa Fe gallery owner wanted to share his collection with folks and 'have a little fun'.
You see, Forrest was diagnosed with Cancer in 1988 when he first thought of this idea. Having his secret spot picked out in the mountains to sequester the chest, his intent was to throw his bones on top of the gravesite with his last dying gasps. Instead, his Cancer went into remission but he continued with his plan.
He then wrote a memoir titled 'The Thrill of the Chase' which contains a poem with 9 clues that, if solved, will take you to the exact location of the chest.
Here's the Poem:
As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it’s no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There’ll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you’ve been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, you quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.
In the early summer of 2017, I read a newspaper article about the drowning of Pastor Paris Wallace and was instantly enthralled. My first trip out to Northern New Mexico was exciting and I just KNEW the chest was mine because I had the right spot. Once on the ground, reality seriously collided with my great expectations.
Since this time, I've made an additional 5 trips and expect to return in June 2020 for my final trip out to retrieve the chest. I'm not telling exactly where. LOL
That is, until it's all said and done. Then, you can buy my documentary "Finding Treasure" and learn all the details.
You can learn more on the website and pre-order today to help fund my next trip out.
What you need to know is that ALL PROFITS from the documentary will go to creating a healing sanctuary for children with Cancer and their families. A place they can go for healing and reconnecting. 'Spring Waters Healing Sanctuary' will provide an essential place for families to step back from the stresses of fighting the disease, even if in the last stages of life, to come together. As a former Contemplative Monk, a retired Oncology Nurse and a Holistic Medicine Provider (Reiki, Healing Touch, Aromatherapy, Meditation, etc.), I am uniquely qualified to manage this place. This documentary and proceeds from the chest will go a long way to fund 'Spring Waters'.
This past week, I returned to Northern New Mexico for the 5th time (in 2 years) to continue searching for Forrest Fenn's Treasure. One thing I've learned is that there are other treasures just as valuable that I have already enjoyed.
'Finding Treasure: the Documentary' is not only about my search efforts but also captures the stories of the people that make the Rocky Mountains of Northern New Mexico their home. Learn about the history of areas that are technically north of Santa Fe but are overlooked by searchers for a variety of reasons. Here the stories of folks like Jesse Benavidez, a man that was born and raised in a once famous city and is proud to tell of the days when the area produced ice for the southwest before refrigeration.
Donate today to help us put together this spectacular documentary that is currently in early stages of production. When you donate $25 or more, you will receive one copy of the documentary.
