In 2002, I had my first depressive episode. I stopped going to school and church, I stopped seeing my friends, I stopped showering; all I did was lay in bed and listen to music. At the time, I was diagnosed with depression. My mental health journey has continued for the next 22 years. I've received almost every diagnosis, from ADHD, depression, anxiety, bipolar 2 disorder, borderline personality disorder, and most recently, a psychiatrist in a 1-hour interview diagnosed me as 'mild autism without intellectual impairment.' In addition to this collection of diagnoses, I have been on more medications, all appropriate to the diagnosis at the time, than I can count. After this arduous journey through my own mental health, I've decided I'm done with the typical process of describing current symptoms and getting a diagnosis - I want a definitive diagnosis so I can get the necessary medication, assistance, and support that I truly need. That is why I have decided to take a neuropsych test. Unfortunately, insurance does not cover this test at all, and I will have to pay for it out of pocket. That is why at this time I am asking for contributions to pay for this expensive test. A test which will hopefully help me be able to live my life to the fullest.
