Financing WAEC Fees for Public School Students

My Birthday Wish: Financing WAEC Fees for Public School Students in Ibadan.

My birthday is January 26, 2021, and I would like you to live this dream with me.

Why this birthday wish?

My lifelong dream is to see lives transformed for good through my actions. Hence, the reason for this project.

At the outbreak of the pandemic, my friend Ibrahim Oredola, took it upon himself to cater to the less privileged in the rural areas of Ibadan, Nigeria. Through his Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), Relifa (visit Relifas website), he and his team donated food supplies to families who experienced food hardship during the first-wave of the COVID-19 outbreak.

In one of our numerous conversations, he told me about some of their experiences while donating to families. He discovered a gap. Which was the fact that in many poor families with young children between ages 15 and above, teenagers cater to the needs of their families. As a result, many of these children could not go to school or even finish their education, let alone writing the secondary school certificate exam West African Examinations Council (WAEC).

I believe the best way to address this problem is to seek means that elevate people out of poverty. This means is providing people with access to education. I believe that one educated person in a family unit could help other members of the family out of poverty. This belief births this project. Thus, the goal of this project is to select brilliant young students between ages 15 and 18 years, who live in the rural areas of Ibadan and are unable to finance their WAEC exams, to finance their WAEC exams. The project would pay for 30 to 40 students' WAEC fees. These fees would include exam and registration fees. As such, each student receives a sum of #20, 000 naira scholarship.

Funding Goal
Our goal is to raise $2000. I will be providing $500 and I am hopeful that your contributions would help us raise the remaining sum of $1,500. I hope that we are able to completely raise this fund by February 28, 2021.

Close
This project would be undertaking by my friend, Ibrahim Oredola. He would oversee the test, selection, and funds disbursement processes. This is one of the best birthday gifts you can give to me and I would like you to join me in actualizing this dream.

Thank you so much. I look forward to providing you with updates about the success of this project.
