Financial Support for a Nurse
Donation protected
Amber Mills is a dedicated single mother and nurse. She has been working in the medical field since the early 2000s. A few years ago, she decided to go back to school to continue her education, and in 2019, she graduated with a nursing degree from Purdue University Northwest while maintaining a full-time job to provide for her daughter. She crushed it! What do you expect from a single mother? Now, she is a full-time night-shift nurse at a local hospital, and her daughter is a full-time student at Indiana University–Bloomington.
No one was prepared for the COVID-19 pandemic. Both physically and mentally, medical care professionals like Amber are tested to new limits. In spite of all this, she still keeps the health and well-being of others a top priority.
Recently, Amber's rental home flooded due to heavy rains in northwest Indiana. As if being a nurse during a pandemic is not stressful enough, her bedroom, which is in the basement, is no longer hospitable. Much of her belongings are either ruined or in storage. Additionally, just this week at the beginning of summer, her air conditioner went out. Regardless, she needs a new place to call home. The money raised from this campaign will go toward a down payment on a house. She should not have to worry about where she’s going to sleep after working hard to save lives during a twelve-hour night shift.
I am creating this campaign because I know how much Amber cares about everyone, and I want her to know that people care about her too. Amber is a hero, and I am proud that she is my sister. Please consider donating. I understand these are hard times. If you want to support her in other ways, please simply share this campaign.
