My neighbors have been hit hard this year and it's taking a toll on them emotionally and financially.
Background: The mom was working three jobs to make ends meet, provide for her sick husband and her daughter before COVID struck. Like so many others, her jobs disappeared and now she's on unemployment waiting for her furlough to end. Why is she different? The amount of tragedy she's had to endure is something most people never have to in a short period of time.
She'd already lost her son in a car accident several years ago. This year her home was severely damaged by flooding from groundwater as well as a broken water heater. While she's been trying to have her home repaired, her husband ended up in the hospital where he would eventually die due to heart complications. He had no life insurance and left her in a terrible position financially. She's fighting every day to do what she can, and pay what she can. Right now, she can't afford her husband's funeral, and her electricity was just turned off.
I'd like to get the family the relief they need in order to sustain them for the next couple of months as it appears that at least one of her jobs may come back by then.
The funds will be used to help pay for utilities, groceries, her husband's funeral expenses, and some repairs on their home.
These are good people. The kind of people who would do anything for another person. It would mean the world to me, as a friend of the family, if I could help return the favor of having the greatest neighbors anyone could ask for.
Please help if you can. No amount is too small. This family needs these funds in the next few weeks.
