Financial help for James Raulerson & his family

Donation protected

Yesterday afternoon (12/4/21), my brother-in-law James Raulerson, was in a boating accident in Jacksonville, FL near the Sisters Creek area. Jamie is an experienced fisherman and boater who is part of the Florida Gheenoe community as well as multiple Northeast FL fishing communities. Jamie was out on the water and on his way back to the ramp when another boat cut in front of him as he was trying to get out of the wake of different boat. Jamie was ejected from his boat. He had the kill-switch attached to a bracelet on his wrist, the bracelet broke but the kill-switch did not engage. His right arm got caught up in the propeller causing severe, deep lacerations, tissue and skin damage and a fracture below the elbow. By God’s grace, Jamie was rescued by another boat within 10 mins of the accident as he was treading water and screaming for help. The amazing boaters that stopped, pulled him in their boat, called for help, got him to shore and he was rushed to the hospital where he has been ever since. Jamie underwent surgery for 5 hours this morning on his arm (12/5/21). The Dr.’s put a plate and screws in his arm and he’ll need an additional surgery in a few days to fix the skin he lost on his arm. He is resting and doing as well as can be expected.

Jamies recovery time will be at least a few months if not longer. His wife Jessie (my sister) and their two kids, Faith and James Jr, depend on Jamies income for food and to pay bills. This unfortunate accident will cause a severe financial hardship for their family. And being the amazing father and husband that Jamie is, he is already stressing hard about how bills will be paid, how they’ll eat and the kids having a good Christmas. I have created this GoFundMe to help ease the financial strain of household and medical bills as well as any medical expenses, so that Jamie and his family can focus on his healing, rehabilitation and spending Christmas together at home. Anything helps and is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much, please share this page and pray for a speedy recovery!
