God Took Him Home

On Sunday, June 4th, my dad Harsono was working his shift as a caregiver at a home with a young adult with behavioral issues. When neighbors heard screams from that house, they called 911. Upon arrival, first responders found my dad unresponsive and rushed him to the nearest trauma hospital in Aurora, CO. He sustained multiple facial fractures, possible loss of vision and an inability to maintain an airway. Trauma surgeons had to intubate my dad and put him on life support. He will need multiple surgeries with rehabilitation afterwards.

 

I found out later the details of what had taken place that horrible night--the person under my dad’s care had invited a friend over. He wanted his help in carrying out the plan to attack and rob my dad. My dad is the kindest person I know. He loves his family, especially his grandkids! He helps others even if he is the one in need, very involved in church and community. It was a shock to find out that someone could do such a vicious act to him… My hope is that everything will only improve from here on out.
