Final Treatment for Lucas

Dear Family and Friends,
We can’t thank you enough for your prayers and generous gifts that have allowed for our son Lucas to go to the Avene Hydrotherapy Center twice and begin healing. Just one year ago, Lucas could still not walk, his skin was barely healing and he was just beginning to start gaining weight after 18 months of no weight gain!
The waters at Avene helped our son heal in two ways, (1) the inflammation on the skin was reduced significantly by about 80 %, and (2) the microbiome available in the Avene water allowed for his gut to further heal on top of all the dietary restrictions and remedies. The healing of his gut and skin have led our son to gain 11 lbs and grow 5 inches in the past year! Although he is still not on the growth curve, we are certain that with God’s help he will continue to catch up.
We have opened this new GoFundMe account in response to the numerous amount of people inquiring about and requesting that we take Lucas for his 3rd and final treatment. The research at Avene Center has shown that patients with severe cases like Lucas have the best and most prolonged benefits with 3 treatments.
Lucas is certainly much better than he was a year ago and many of his health conditions are manageable now and continue to heal. However, he still has bad eczema areas that need healing in his neck, hands, hips, and behind the knees. Furthermore, although his itchiness is better than a year ago, he still wakes up every night itchy which keeps him from ever getting a full night sleep. Our hope with this third treatment is for the remaining wounds to heal, as well as, reducing the itchiness he has. We also know that the microbiome of the water itself will help reduce inflammation in his body, attacking the root cause of the problem.
The only time we could take Lucas for his third treatment would be this end of August 2019 or next August 2020. The past two trips cost a total of around $8,000 for the three of us which included plane tickets, lodging, insurance, car rental, gas, treatment, and food.
Lucas has healed around 80% and it would be magical to see him get near 100%.

Nos sentimos sumamente agradecidos por todas las oraciones y generosidad de cada uno de ustedes que ha permitido que llevemos a nuestro hijo Lucas al Centro de Hidroterapia Avene dos veces. Solo hace un año atrás, Lucas un no caminaba, no tenia pelo, su piel recién se estaba sanando, y empezando a subir de peso después de 18 meses sin subir peso!
Las aguas de Avene ayudaron a nuestro hijo en dos maneras, (1) la inflamación de su piel se redujo en alrededor de 80%, y (2) la flora bacteriana del agua de avene ayudo a sanar su sistema digestivo en conjunto con su dieta estricta y remedios naturales. Al sanarse los el sistema digestivo y la piel, Lucas subió 5 kg y creció 12 cm en solo un año! Aunque aun no alcanza la curva de crecimiento, tenemos certeza que con la ayuda de Dios el seguirá poniéndose al día.
En respuesta a la solicitud de varias personas que llevemos a Lucas a Avene para su tercer tratamiento, hemos abierto esta nueva cuenta de GoFundMe. Las investigaciones del Centro Avene muestran que los pacientes reciben el máximo beneficio con 3 tratamiento.
Sin duda que Lucas esta mucho mejor que hace un año atrás y varias de sus condiciones medicas son ahora manejables o siguen sanando. Sin embargo, Lucas aun tiene áreas con eczema avanzado que necesitan sanidad en su cuello, manos, cadera y detrás de las rodillas. Aunque ya no se rasca con tanta intensidad como hace un año atrás, Lucas aun se despierta todas las noches por la picazón lo cual le impide tener una noche de sueño seguido. Nuestro anhelo es que, con este tercer tratamiento, las heridas que le quedan en su piel se sanen y que la picazón disminuya. También sabemos que la flora bacteriana del agua ayuda a reducir la inflamación dentro de su cuerpo, atacando la raíz del problema.
La única época que podríamos llevar a Lucas para su tercer tratamiento seria a fines de Agosto 2019 o ya para el próximo Agosto 2020. Los últimos dos viajes, nos costaron alrededor de US$8000 para los tres, lo cual incluye costo de pasajes, estadía, seguro, arriendo de auto, bencina (gas), tratamiento, y comida.
