RICHARD WACK MEMORIAL FUND

#Support Santha and the Girls

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."

                                                                                                 2 Timothy 4:7

Five years ago this wonderful family was given some devastating news.  Richard, then 55, was diagnosed with incurable and inoperable anal cancer.  No one could have imagined that this strong, strapping, great man of God and amazing husband, father and grandfather would be the recipient of such a sad prognosis.  Life expectancy was not good, and Rich and his wife, Santha, were told they could only hope to shrink the tumors and extend his life through aggressive chemo and radiation;  but he would never be "cured".

And so the battle began.  Months, then years, of chemo, radiation, hospital stays, trips to the VA, Florida Cancer, Moffitt Cancer, CAT scans and targeted therapy to keep the cancer "subdued", all while trying to maintain some semblance of family normalcy as in the midst of his treatments, Rich and Santha had become the caregivers and legal guardians of their three young granddaughters.  Rich was in a valiant fight for life and for more precious time with his girls.

Surrounded with church family and friends eager to help, and grounded in faith, Richard was loved and admired by all who knew him.  Despite his pain and the cancer continuing to spread, Rich remained strong, until finally the ravages of treatment were too much.  Hospice stepped in but Rich held on several more months, as the pain of leaving his girls, his family, was far greater.

Richard went to Jesus on September 21, 2018 after a long, hard fought battle to be there for his family.  While Rich's fight is over, Santha and the girls will continue to struggle, both emotionally and financially.  Please pray for them and if you feel led and are able, support them through this go fund me memorial.

Richard was a veteran and patriot, serving our country for 22 years in the US Army.  Although Richard of course left some provision for his family, the end of life costs are substantial and Santha could use a "financial cushion" until she can adjust to her new reality as a single Grandma/Mom raising and providing for three school age children without Rich.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held September 29, 2018 at 11 AM at Englewood United Methodist Church, Englewood, Florida, with a funeral Mass and burial the following weekend in Esmond, North Dakota, which entails airline fees for Santha, daughters, Rachel and Jocelyn, and granddaughters, Desirea, Adrianna and Havanna.

Thank you, Richard Wack, for your many years of service to our country and your loving support and kindness to your family, church and friends.   You were a blessing to all who knew you.  Everyone, please, on behalf of Santha and the girls, consider supporting the Richard Wack memorial fund.

Thank you! God Bless you all!
