Final Expenses for Mary Camacho

Donation protected
I’m starting this campaign to ask for your help for a dear friend of mine on behalf of her family.
Many of you who know me personally also know my friend Mary Camacho. Mary is a great Mom, Grandmother, great grandmother, “mother of the heart”, sister, friend and so much more to all who have been blessed with her love and care.
Sadly she is also terminally ill with a rare complication of her kidney disease. It has been a painful, debilitating process, keeping her in the hospital for most of the last few months. She will be going home with the Lord very soon.
On top of the pain of watching a loved one suffer and the horrible pain of knowing they are losing their Mom, their rock, her children are trying to deal with how they will pay her medical bills and pay for her funeral and final expenses. They realized they needed to ask for help - a hard thing for any family to do.
So on their behalf, I am reaching out to Mary’s extended family, her friends, her family of the heart, those she has worked with and for and to the community at large to help her and her family during this very difficult time. Mary gave her all, to everyone, for her whole life; this one last time, for the only time in her entire life, she needs to receive help.
Unfortunately due to her illness, she has not been able to work for awhile. Between that and waiting for disability and high medical expenses, she has used all her resources, income and even life insurance.
Mary worked in human services for over 25 years, assisting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities at both Venture (formerly RRI) and The Arc of Opportunity. She worked in a variety of roles, but was always passionately dedicated to human rights and was a tireless advocate for the individuals she served. Her commitment to their full inclusion in the community was legendary. She even volunteered to facilitate Self Advocacy groups. While her chosen profession never paid a lot of money, it did include giving and receiving lots of love and building strong relationships. Many of the people she supported as well as lots of her colleagues became considered part of her family.
In her personal life, Mary is someone who took in anyone in need and did her best to help them. Lots of her children’s friends consider her a “second Mom” who has been there for them many times over the years.
Her proudest achievement is the children she raised. They, along with her grandchildren and great grandchildren are her greatest joy. They strongly want to do her proud as they prepare for her final journey.
Mary is a warm, open, kind, easily approachable woman. She is MUCH more comfortable giving help than receiving it but needs it now.
Her family wants to give her a simple but worthy “send off” but even basic services are very costly. They need to look to others who love her or care about them or just want to assist this wonderful woman and her family to help meet this need. 100% of any money raised will be used to help defray her medical, funeral and other final expenses.
Hopefully many of the people whose life she has touched will take advantage of this opportunity to give back to Mary by means of a financial donation to this campaign. If you are able to make a contribution, of any size, you just need to go to the Go Fund Me page and follow the simple instructions.
I’d also ask everyone to share this campaign with your family and friends to help spread the word. Most importantly, Mary and her family appreciate your good wishes and your prayers.
Thank you for any assistance you can provide. Know that all donations are so very appreciated.
