In His House: A Short Film
Donation protected
Well hello there. Let us introduce ourselves!..
Thank you for baring through that video! Now let's get down to business.
Attention all fans of short 'n sweet but vaguely spooky films!
We are 3 incredibly passionate (and tastefully awkward) creatives from Portland Maine.
We are currently in the pre-production stages of creating a short film that we are hoping to submit to multiple film festivals this upcoming fall, but primarily for Damnationland 2018.
(Here is what Shannon, our director, made for last last year's program: Priestess )
Our drive, our passion for story telling, and our UNCONTROLLABLE EXCITEMENT!!! are the key ingredients in bringing this beautiful brew of a film to life this July. The only ingredient missing is... you guessed it: money.
We don't like askin'...
But we are desperate.
We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
We cannot wait to make you proud.
Here is a little bit about our story:
DESCRIPTION
In the tradition of Rosemary's Baby and Get Out, our film is a psychological horror story exploring the internal nightmare that unfolds when a young woman is forced to confront that her life, her destiny, and her very own body, can be forcibly taken from her. (Timely, no? Ugh.)
SYNOPSIS
"When mothers could still name their own children, my mother named me Elda." With that first spoken line, we're brought out of the dark and plunged headfirst into a different world. The human race is nearly extinct after a century of chemical warfare. The remaining populace have started the era of The Rebuild, where every man, woman and child are instructed to do their part to restore the world, leading girls to be auctioned off at the age of 16 to continue procreation. Against this harsh backdrop, 16-year-old Elda is coming of age and struggling to come into her own, while living with her guardian Marcus, a man whose fervent dedication to The Rebuild seems to strengthen with each coming day. With her Auction Day quickly approaching, Elda draws the attention of a sociopathic Peacekeeper and soon finds herself locked in battle with those around her, determined to save herself before all hope is lost forever.
