Film: End Bullying & Youth Suicide

Donation protected
Hi. I'm Thomas Keith, a professor in Southern California who has also produced social justice themed documentary films for close to 13 years.

I am currently in production on a new film that examines bullying and youth suicide. I have traveled throughout the U.S. filming experts, scholars, authors, young people, and families that have lost a child to suicide. It has been gut-wrenching work at times, but also optimistic, since youth suicide, in most cases, can be prevented. Experts also agree that bullying can be greatly reduced. There are programs, policies, and approaches to bullying that have shown considerable positive empirical results, and this is one of the most important parts of this film. No one deserves to be bullied and no parent should ever feel the pain of losing their child to suicide. I am nearing post-production and need more funding to wrap up this important film.  I have funded this entire film on my own to this point. I am going to need a little help to pay for travel costs, motion graphics, and licensing fees.

I have produced three academic, documentary films for Media Education Foundation and am doing all the filming, editing, and sound production myself to hold down costs. This film is going to film festivals in order to secure broadcast distribution, but I need your help. Any amount you are able to give is deeply appreciated.

Cast: Susan Swearer (University of Nebraska), James Doty (Stanford University), Jackson Katz (Founder, Mentors for Violence Prevention), Jennifer Green (Boston University), Rheeda Walker (University of Houston), Will Hall (University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill), Jaana Juvonen (UCLA), Emma Sepalla (Yale University), Ron Avi Astor (USC), Kimya Dennis (Salem College), Jennifer Pozner (author-Reality Bites Back), Ross Ellis (Stomp Out Bullying), Dacher Keltner (University of California, Berkeley), Warren Blumenfeld (University of Massachusetts), Charles Derber (Boston College), Samuel Song (UNLV), and many more.

I will list all donors' names in the film credits to acknowledge those who have assisted me in making this film.  I also plan to update all donors on progress, film festival dates, and screenings. Thank you very much!
