WHAT IS THE ROLE OF ARTISTS IN A TIME OF CRISIS?
We've been thinking a lot about what (when we do go outside for a rare grocery run or glimpse of fresh air) are we passing on the street (that whole psycho-geography thing)...empty businesses, empty schools...To replace that emptiness we ask...What could we be putting up (on walls, sign posts, electric boxes, and social media) in this moment to support folks emotional/mental health, share resources, dream of a more just future, and call out politics in this critical moment?
A powerful group of artists and poets are coming together to create free, downloadable graphics to share, print, publish, and put up across our cities, towns, and neighborhoods. Dozens of artists are contributing their time and labor (in a moment when so many of them are out of work / struggling to make ends meet!) and we're looking to you to help support them and make sure we can get more and more prints out in the streets!
