<div>Filip’s Story – A Little Fighter on His Way to His First Steps

<div>Filip was born in 2018 as one of a pair of twins after a high-risk pregnancy that ended prematurely in the 32nd week.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>On the seventh day of his life, he developed sepsis, followed by meningitis and a severe inflammatory bowel disease. He spent 26 days in intensive care, including 20 days on mechanical ventilation. At only 13 days old, he had to undergo intestinal surgery.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>During his treatment, he received therapy for retinopathy, which resulted in nystagmus (involuntary eye movements). Due to the sepsis, he also suffered from neonatal seizures.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>After two and a half months in the hospital, he was discharged home with multiple diagnoses and therapies. Over time, he overcame many complications, but one lasting consequence remains: cerebral palsy – spastic diplegia (G80.1).
</div>

</div>
<div>Filip began intensive rehabilitation as early as 4 months old, including:

<div>Physiotherapy (kinesiotherapy)

<div>Occupational therapy

</div>

<div>He has already undergone two surgeries using the Ulzibat method. His rehabilitation continues to this day on a daily basis, including water training and exercises with therapists.

<div>Currently, Filip moves only with the help of a walker or another person.
</div>
<div>To take his first independent steps, he still needs a lot of work, therapy, and support.

<div>Filip wurde 2018 als einer von Zwillingen nach einer risikoreichen Schwangerschaft geboren, die in der 32. Woche frühzeitig endete.

<div>Am siebten Lebenstag entwickelte er eine Sepsis, gefolgt von Meningitis und einer schweren entzündlichen Darmerkrankung. Er verbrachte 26 Tage auf der Intensivstation, davon 20 Tage unter mechanischer Beatmung. Im Alter von nur 13 Tagen musste er am Darm operiert werden.

<div>Nach zweieinhalb Monaten Krankenhausaufenthalt wurde er mit mehreren Diagnosen und Therapien nach Hause entlassen. Viele Komplikationen hat er im Laufe der Zeit erfolgreich überwunden, doch eine bleibende Folge ist die Zerebralparese – spastische Diplegie (G80.1).
