<div>While mountain biking in the Dublin mountains, Eoghan came off his bike while coming down a trail and caused a fracture on his spine. He was put into an induced coma and on a life support machine and later underwent emergency spinal surgery. Eoghan could not breathe by himself for many weeks and was told he may never come off the ventilator.

<div>But Eoghan is a fighter and with his determination and the excellent care from his medical team, he is now breathing unassisted. Unfortunately, Eoghan is now paralysed below his shoulders and has no upper or lower body control. He now continues his treatment in the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dun Laoghaire.

<div>In the coming months Eoghan will come home. He will need around the clock care and his home will need to be adapted to cater for his many medical needs. His ongoing medical care will cost hundreds of thousands of euros. If you’ve ever met Eoghan I’m sure you know how great a person he is, and this is truly a sad time. Eoghan has put up an amazing fight and we now need to help him continue this fight.
