Help Nina fight Stage 4 Metastatic Breast Cancer

Three weeks after Nina's 30th birthday, she was diagnosed originally with DCIS breast cancer, as well as being BRCA1 positive. After undergoing a bilateral mastectomy April 2018- her pathology revealed the unexpected. Her cancer was actually stage 3B and was into 3 of her lymph nodes. She had many complications and infections resulting in 7  surgeries and the eventual removal of her expanders in July 2018.

She eventually healed up and found another mysterious lump in the right side of her chest in December of 2018. To our shock, she was having a recurrence and the cancer had spread into her chest wall. She had 4 more surgeries to remove the cancer with more complications. In May, there was another mass, resulting in 4 more surgeries. Total she has had 15 surgeries, 15 lymph nodes removed and 8 drains to date resulting from her breast cancer.

Nina underwent a PET scan December 2019, and feared the worst after her doctors office called her after hours to schedule an urgent appointment for the next day. Her doctor revealed our worst fear; the cancer was not only back but has metastasized throughout her body. Due to the progression of the disease, it is now stage 4 and her survival rate has been reduced to 22%.

Nina has a planned surgery to remove one of the masses (the only one that can be operated on at this point) in early January. Nina will leave behind a husband and 4 children. My goal in creating this is to take some of the financial burden off to be able to focus on tending to the children and providing them the best possible life. Nina will be drastically cutting back her hours, if working at all, to spend as much quality time with our family as possible. Nina remains optimistic but given the struggles we have already gone through, it would be amazing if we could do something so when the time comes, she knows that our children will be taken care of.

If you have the pleasure of knowing Nina personally, she always makes others laugh at doctor appointments and has a very unique personality. She always jokes that she is sassy and sweet (she would also disapprove of me creating this but hey, what's a husband to do?! To give you a bit of insight, she insists no family knows until after the holidays because she doesn't want to "ruin their Christmas"). Nina's number one priority in life has always been our family and I believe she will be much more at peace knowing that there won't be financial struggles. Any amount of help would be so greatly appreciated by our family. Thank you all for the love and well wishes <3.
