Professional fraudsters brutally scammed her, impersonating me in a moment of panic and convincing her to send —9,800 euros—to criminals. They preyed on her love and instinct to protect her family, destroying her trust in the world and shattering her emotional well-being.

The shock was immediate and terrifying. My mum panicked as her sense of safety was stolen alongside the money she worked so hard for—money she relied on for everyday essentials and my brother’s university fees. The trauma has left her doubting herself, isolated by overwhelming guilt she should never carry. As her child, watching her suffer like this is heartbreaking, and I am fighting for her now as she has always fought for us.

To make matters worse, just weeks earlier, my brother was in a car accident. Thankfully, both drivers were unharmed, but my mum’s only car—the one she relies on—was wrecked. While that loss is serious, it isn’t comparable to the terror, humiliation and emotional trauma the scam inflicted. Even more hopeless, despite alerting the bank immediately and providing evidence, they are non responsive.

We are desperate to rebuild our lives and restore my mum’s faith in kindness and safety.
