Fighting for Pepper

THE GOAL FOR THE GO FUND ME IS $8,000, AND SHE ONLY HAS $1230.00 ON 1/ 27. HER OWNER HAD TO PUT THE TWO BIG BILLS ON A CARE CREDIT CARD AND PAYMENT IS DUE SOON PLUS THERE WILL BE MORE VET VISITS AND PHYSICAL THERAPY. PLEASE HELP IF YOU CAN. ANY DONATION WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

Pepper our little champion is our 8.5 yr old fur baby. She was a rescue pup and has since been apart of our family for over 7 years; half of our daughter's life. She has had her obstacles with us by over coming her kidney stones with two surgeries and she came through like a champ!

On Friday January 4, 2019 our hearts broke when we thought we might lose Pepper forever. She went to Petsmart with her G-pa for a haircut (she hates grooming)and wiggled right out of her collar. She ran out the double doors and jetted across the parking lot then across a busy street. G-pa pursued her along with other helpful people but Pepper was too fast. It was raining and cars were flying by which disoriented and scared Pepper. Our baby was on her own for 3days and 2nights, but there was a Greater Power watching over her and we were searching for her night and day.(never giving up hope). I stopped anyone and everyone.... mailmen, delivery guys, police, anyone who might have a lead to Pepper's whereabouts.

Hourly our hearts became heavier. We searched everywhere. We got a call Pepper was found but unfortunately had been hit by a car.The person who found her says Pepper was trying to use her front legs to climb up on the curve away from traffic (her hind legs were broken) but she was in survival mode.

Pepper is our champion.We took her straight to the emergency vet where they gave us sad news that Pepper's right hind leg is broken in two places and her left hind leg is broken at the thigh (could possibly need amputation) and we aren't sure if she is incontinent(able to control her bowels and bladder). Pepper also has severe abrasions on her abdomen/bottom. She needs surgery for both legs immediately but it is extremely costly and it would cause an enormous financial hardship for our family. Pepper can't wait much longer so we are asking for your support.

She will need therapy, and devices to get around until she can weightbear on her legs, puppy pads(because she can't control her bowels and bladder right now), diapers, medicines to get through 10-12 weeks or more of healing.  The first vet visit alone cost $1360.
The vet attempted to set and put a temporary splint on one leg but the oblique fracture won't heal that way. We are trying to keep her comfortable until she can get surgery. The vet says she is in lots of pain.That's just the physical scars. She has been through alot out there, lonely and on her own in a big city. She is very traumatized.

SURGERY HAS BEEN SCHEDULED FOR FRIDAY JANUARY 11, 2019.

Our community has been so very supportive and kind it has been our light in this dark hour of ours. We cant Thank all the wonderful people who have had a hand in searching for our baby and bringing her home.

Now its time for our Champ to FIGHT AGAIN AND WE NEED YOUR HELP!!!
