Hello! If you’ve been following me on Twitter, you know 9/10 of my beloved birds were stolen at the end of last July. This was done by the person behind the “rescue” I used to be affiliated with, as these birds were from there.

She did this to hurt me because she found out I told someone we both knew that she had been talking poorly about them behind their back. Since then, she has gone on to tell everyone that I stole my birds as well as money from the rescue, that I neglect my birds, and that I threatened her and she had to get a restraining order. That’s literally all verifiably false and in fact I’ve got packets of proof that she is the one that has done those things. This is not to mention that she pretended to be my friend to get a ton of free labor out of me, all while financially and emotionally abusing me as I took her up on her offer to move into a spare bedroom they had. She continuously refused my offers to pay rent and utilities and instead bullied me out of working my own freelance work, and doing things for the ‘rescue’ and the household. This was full time job level work between the rescue and household tasks.

As I am able to clearly provide proof of ownership of all nine of my birds, the district attorney is perusing theft charges. The matter has gone on to she local criminal court as this is a felony level theft. However, it has been rescheduled twice now. Each time there are two months between dates. Shes stalling. The next court date is coming on May 6th. As this is the the state of TN vs this woman (note the woman and not the organization… it didn’t even exist legally at the time due to a lapse in paperwork…) I have had no legal expenses.

Turns out, civil and criminal court are different. I can take this matter to civil court while criminal court is pending and it will likely go MUCH faster. No attorney is required for civil court, but they are quite well off and she will almost certainly use the criminal defense attorney representing her in criminal court.

I start my new job next week and will now be looking for an attorney to go after her. This will be for returning my birds and the cages she stole from me, as well as reparations for the hell she has put me through with her crime and lies.

Attorneys charge hundreds per hour, not to mention ones that charge consultation fees.

The money raised in this GFM will go to finding and paying for an attorney. At least enough to get me started.
