Fighting for Foley

I met Joyce for the first time just a bout a year ago, but I knew her story long before I had ever met her face to face. I have worked for the same hospital and quietly supported her from afar, amazed at this powerfully strong working mom showing up everyday and putting patients before herself.  When my new job took me to the rehab hospital working with Joyce on a daily basis I felt lucky to be around someone so inspiring and loving.  Both from Northeast Ohio, both moms to crazy boys, we became fast friends and I'm so lucky we did!
 Joyce Foley is a Certified Nurse Practitioner at the Cleveland Clinic Children's Hospital for Rehabilitation and a Mother to FIVE amazing young boys. She is a daughter, an aunt, a sister and a friend to so many who love her. But most of all, Joyce is a FIGHTER! She has fought her way to where she is, one leg and all. Nobody thought her aggressive cancer would return, but it has. So now Joyce will have to fight again with all of us supporting and cheering for her.  I asked her what she thinks she will need the most in the coming months and years, and just like the Joyce I have come to know and love,  she just needs her boys taken care of. The best way I know how to help is through fundraising and love.
The money raised here will go towards having an ADA compliant bathroom added to the main living floor of Joyce's home in Chardon along with contributing to her medical bills and expenses along the way. The existing bathroom does not fit her wheelchair, and there is no shower, meaning Joyce has to find a way up the narrow stair case to the second floor for all her bathing needs. Her home will also need a few ramps installed for easy access with her wheelchair.
