Fighting Eviction While Navigating Bipolar Disorder - Your Help Can Save My Home

The system has failed people like me. I suffer from Mental Illness and it has been very challenging mentally physically and emotionally. I am in an emergency. This year I faced the worst time in my life battling Bipolar Disorder. I was receiving care from a neglectful and abusive outpatient clinic that prescribed the wrong medication to manage my psychosis symptoms. I suffered extremely painful side effects for an entire year. What was difficult about it was that I was stuck on the drug. I couldn't seem to stop taking it without experiencing excruciating withdrawals and for months I was stuck on the drug with no psychiatrist that could help me get off of it. I went to my primary doctor and they referred me to a new mental health practice that helped me get off the drug but we still have not found the right one for me and I am still experiencing psychosis and headaches.

Because of my illness and the physical side effects I found myself unable to work for months and have fallen behind on rent payments and I am now at risk of eviction. I have worked tirelessly to get assistance having to attend Homebase, Housing Court, HRA while extremely sick. I keep trying to get approved for a loan but getting denied because I didn't provide enough documentation. I'm running out of time to get approved because it takes a month to go through and I don't have a month before I get evicted. I fear another month will go by with another rejection.

I'm deciding to go to my community for help. I'm asking for donations to help raise money to pay my rent for just this month so I can get approved for a one shot deal and keep my place. This place was my family home for over 10 years and even though it has not been easy to live here it is home. Having my apartment is a step on the path to healing and rebuilding my life, my career and I really want to stay here as long as I need to.

Even with everything happening I have stayed focused on my healing and my stability and I will be starting a new job caring for my grandmother. It is such a blessing to have her in my life and give back to her for everything she has given me. It is giving me the chance to create a more stable income and be able to pay my rent moving forward. I just want to say thank you to all the beautiful spirits that have donated and supported my musical journey over the years singing on the subway. You have no idea how lucky I feel to have sang for you and to have met you and I have not forgotten you. No matter what the year started like it will be rewarded with a beautiful album from me with the most beautiful songs which I will be dropping very soon. I am so grateful to have been blessed with so much talent despite my mental and physical challenges. I promise to keep fighting for my place and for my career and to keep persevering. The one being that I don't want to let down is my baby kitten Chloe. He is the one that has kept me going to feed myself and him. He deserves to have a home. Thank you for reading this and God Bless you.
