Fighting 4Geoff

As many of you know Geoff was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer that had metastasized in his lungs and a small part of his liver back in March 2019. Geoff had previously battled colon cancer in 2015 and declared cancer free however this time the cancer returned with a vengeance.  The prognosis has never been great since the oncologist first stated it had returned and was stage 4 however we remained hopeful that he would once again be victorious over this dreadful enemy. Geoff began chemotherapy and at first treatment seemed to be effective then after 6 months the medications were deemed no longer effective and the cancer started growing again. Treatment options presented afterwards were very limited due to the spread of the cancer however Geoff was recommended and approved to be part of a drug trial/medication study. This was great news however there were many setbacks and hurdles to jump. As part of the protocol to begin the trial treatment Geoff had to undergo a liver biopsy in November and an additional PET scan that was completed Dec. 2, 2019. Geoff began the trial treatment today however we received the results from the scan and with the doctors compared it to the one taken just last month. The results were heart wrenching and while we continue to cling to our faith and belief in a miracle which may come from God in the form this new drug we are faced with some harsh realities. The cancer is rapidly growing and spreading. The cancer in the liver has grown significantly and now causing a blood clot in venacava artery which poses many dangers in itself. The cancer in the lungs has spread to his bronchi which makes him constantly cough, wheeze, have shortness of breath and feel like he has bronchitis. The cancer is also in the lymph nodes and now spread to his right hip bones. While we continue to face this battle against cancer we will have many more hurdles to jump and battles to wage. This is where your prayers and financial support will help us wage on. Geoff is now transitioning to permanent disability and no longer to work. Funds raised here will be used to help maintain daily living, medical expenses and other unknowns that are thrown our way. I am also in the process of contacting a few organizations to help organize a possible trip to see some of Geoff's lifelong dreams fulfilled. Please know that no amount is too small. Thank you for your prayers and tangible support during our time of need.
