Fightin' First 10 year reunion!

Pictured above is the Infantry platoon officially designated as 1st Platoon, B company, 2/87 Infantry Battalion of the 10th Mountain Division, known to its members and those with whom it served as “the Fightin’ First.” I was honored to serve as a member of this brotherhood from 2002-2004, including during a deployment (as part of a larger task force) to Afghanistan in 2003-2004.
Throughout the years the men pictured here gave over 175 years in service to our country, with some still serving today. They deployed more than 80 times to combat zones, 6-7 times by a few. Some were injured in combat, and all served with honor. All of these men made it home, although not all are here today.
We have a reunion planned for September of this year in Las Vegas, the first such gathering since we parted ways in 2004. As of today 11 members have confirmed they’ll attend, but there could be more. This is where this page comes in.
A number of these men are unable to afford the airfare/hotel costs. Our platoon sergeant, still looking after his troops, has booked a site for gatherings out of his own pocket. Those of us who can afford it have agreed to cover food and beverage costs. We have even discussed trying to pay for more brothers’ attendance, but realized we can barely afford one, let alone the whole group.
Presently, the Air/Hotel average runs about $850. My goal here is to send at least 4 more of my brothers to the reunion.
