Ed McCollin's story is best told by the people that know him best, his family...
"It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have decided to share publicly that our amazing dad will soon and unexpectedly be leaving this Earth to go be with our Heavenly Father. Dad is currently suffering from an inoperable brain tumor called Glioblastoma (an aggresive type of cancer in the brain) that was diagnosed on January 4th, 2018. This diagnosis has shocked our entire family and rocked our faith to the core as symptoms, as well as a diagnosis, happened truly overnight. He has been given weeks to maybe a couple months of life remaining.
Together our dad and mom have overcome so many obstacles over the years. It is so hard to understand and comprehend that this disease can attack the body so quickly and eliminate all cognitive ability to think, understand, and function almost instantly. Fortunately, dad feels no pain, nor is he aware of what is happening. We cannot say the same for our mother who is working full time as well giving dad 24/7 care.
Any funds raised will be used to ease mom's burden as much as possible as she cares for our dad in his final days. Dad did not have a life insurance policy in place, so she will be left with all medical bills and funeral costs. Any amount would be valued, but we would also appreciate prayers for a quiet passing as well as peace for those of us who have to say goodbye."
